Our Teacher
John Fortune
John Fortune is a Christian home-educating dad from the south-east of Ireland. He has worked as an adventure guide in several countries, a tree surgeon, youth worker and, more recently, coordinating a Social Care project specialising in Adventure Therapy with teenage boys. He has Degrees in Health & Leisure, Arboriculture and Professional Social Care.
In his spare time, John likes mountain biking and building boats, paddles and Viking axes. He also leads a local Christian men’s outdoor group.
John believes strongly in the power of movement and play in education and in the importance of ‘outdoor risky play’ in healthy child development.
