Brickfilm: Animation Workshop (9+)

Ever wanted to bring your minifigures to life? You may have seen a short Lego film on YouTube, also known as a brickfilm. Learn to make your own brickfilm with your Lego pieces, whatever your own interests are! In this workshop, you will be taught and guided through the process of creating a brickfilm.

Through the course you will learn a wide range of skills including; Camera Settings tips and tricks to make your brickfilms look professional, How to animate a walk cycle, Lighting, Cinematography, Special effects such as flying and lasers, Story writing, Storyboards and Post production (editing, soundtrack and sharing)!

The workshops will focus on teaching a different skill each week. In each session, the participants will have a chance to practice with guidance given throughout.

By the end of the course, the participants will have their own short film, as well as the skills and the knowledge to make more. No matter your current skill level, there is something new that you can learn from this course!

About the teacher:

Oliver has been animating in stop-motion since 2015. In 2021, with his brothers, they uploaded their first video onto their YouTube channel, Fiontar Floinn. In 2023 he hosted his first ‘Brickfilm for Beginners Workshop’ and has been inspiring young animators to create their own films ever since.
