Dumb Ox Learning is a Christian company that offers AP, SAT, GCSEs, and enrichment classes in the UK, Ireland, US, UAE, and worldwide. Courses are taught by well-qualified and engaging teachers.

Jenni Cassidy has homeschooled her seven children, in Austria and England, with five having graduated with a High School Diploma from Mother of Divine Grace School in California, USA.

Her three eldest children graduated from Christondom college, Virginia USA, Thomas More College, New Hampshire, and Thomas Aquinas College, California, all three with Liberal Arts Degrees. Her second eldest continued to do a second degree in Philosophy at the Pontifical University of St Thomas Aquinas in Rome, and is currently studying for a Masters Degree in Theology, through Franciscan University of Steubenville at their Austrian campus.

Jenni resides currently, by the sea, in Norfolk, England with her Scottish husband and her three school aged children. She has two grandchildren and runs a home based health and wellness business along with homeschool consulting.

Helen Harrold completed her Economics degree at Lancaster University and then obtained a post graduate teaching qualification in Economics and Math. She currently tutors IGCSE & GCSE maths, SAT math and AP Economics. Whilst living in the UK, she has homeschooled her own seven children using the American curriculum: so has straddled both the UK and US systems.

Helen has 20+ years homeschooling experience using an American High School program which she describes as being “a wonderful journey”!

In recent years she has become a consultant for the American homeschool program she has used and now mentors families in their journey with curriculum and other advise. In this role, and in watching the changing educational landscape in the UK, she has seen the need for AP exams and SAT prep courses, which she and Jenni are excited about providing.

Why “Dumb Ox”?

During his studies, St Thomas Aquinas was nicknamed by his peers the Dumb Ox, both because of his size and the fact that he was slow in speech.

Yet, his teacher, St Albert, noted of him, “We call this man a dumb ox, but his bellowing in doctrine will one day resound throughout the world.” Those words have proven to have been prophetic.

What better name for this learning platform… Our students will hopefully go forth into the world with their qualifications and achieve great things.
